What Would You Like to Know?

DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF NMHJA TO GET POINTS FOR YEAR-END AWARDS?

Yes, to receive NMHJA Year end awards, you have to be a member of NMHJA. You can join here.

DOES MY HORSE NEED TO BE RECORDED WITH NMHJA TO RECEIVE POINTS?

Your horse needs to be recorded to receive points in any Hunter or Jumper divisions.  Your horse does not need to be recorded for points to be awarded in Equitation classes, including the Stirrup divisions.

DOES MY TRAINER NEED TO BE RECORDED WITH NMHJA TO RECEIVE POINTS?

If your trainer is riding your horse in any Hunter or Jumper class, they will need to be a member for the points to count.  If your trainer is a member of NMHJA, they can be listed in the trainer directory on the NMHJA website.

DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF NMHJA TO SHOW AT A NMHJA RECOGNIZED SHOW?

No, however, you will not receive points for year-end awards.

HOW ARE POINTS AWARDED?

Points are awarded based on the show rating. For example, first place at an “A” show is 30 points, at a “B” show is 20 points, and at a “C” show is 10 points. Classics receive double points

HOW DO I INQUIRE ABOUT POINTS AWARDED AT A HORSE SHOW?

The points pages (Standings and Results) have an “Issue” button that will provide a link to the points issue form. Once completed and submitted, we will research the issue, and respond to you with an answer. You may also email Becky Newmon directly, but please be sure to include your name, your horse's name, the horse show and the classes that are being inquired about.
